  1. What's New in BBSee since Version 2.2

  3. 1. File description imports and edits now can be mixed-case (upper and
  4.    lower).  No conversion of the existing database is necessary.
  5.  
  6. 2. New Scan option to perform regular expression searching (including *
  7.    ? and [..]) on catalog and archive file searches.  This option
  8.    provides better access to file extensions and filenames.
  9.  
  10. 3. Easier access to eXtract, View and Copy in the View Catalog and Show
  11.    Catalog options.
  12.  
  13. 4. BBSee Shell programs can be configured to be passed the current
  14.    catalog file name which provides for additional 'file' viewer
  15.    support.

  17. 5. Support for {COMMO} upload and download formats as specified in the
  18.    file CS-MAC06.

  20. 6. The time clock can now be turned off to speed up multi-tasking
  21.    environments.

  27. 1. Pseudonym catalog option to catalog labels independently from the
  28.    volume label.

  32. 3. Significantly changed catalog file conversion utility.
  33.    Amalgamated the various disk catalog conversion utilities into one
  34.    new program, CATCON.EXE, on the BBSEE##C.ZIP disk.  Added support for
  35.    Wssindex, DiskTrak and CUDM, in addition to improving support for
  36.    CatDisk and InteliCat.  Interface improved as well.

  38. 4. Improved Cross reference function to report in volume order to allow
  39.    more flexibility.  Cross reference now also functions against the
  40.    Upload and Archive directories in addition to the disk catalog.

  44. What's New in BBSee since Version 2.0
  45.  
  46. 1. New Catalog Reports
  47.  
  48.    New catalog reports are available under the Make Catalog Report
  49.    option.  These are:
  50.  
  51.    a) Multi-Column report.  This report produces fast catalog reports,
  52.       in from one to nine columns, designed to get the most out of
  53.       paper.  Five columns will fit in 132 columns, if you compress your
  54.       print.
  55.  
  56.    b) Extension report.  This report produces catalog reports sorted in
  57.       extension order.  The extension is separated from the filename for
  58.       easier viewing.
  59.  
  60.    c) Date report.  This report produces catalog reports sorted in
  61.       ascending or descending order by file date.

  63.    d) Duplicate report (by Volume).  Another catalog duplicate report
  64.       has been added which will report sorted by disk volume, to make it
  65.       easier clean-up disks.

  67.    Because of option changes resulting from the above enhancements, the
  68.    window to change catalog report features has been move under the
  69.    Make Catalog Report sub-window.  It is no longer necessary to access
  70.    it with <Ctrl-R>.

  72. 2. Expanded 4DOS description limit.

  74.    Increased BBSee's capability to handle new extended length 4DOS
  75.    descriptions, on input and output.  Output length is configured in
  76.    BBSetup - Miscellaneous.

  78. 3. Default PCBoard conferences.
  79.  
  80.    Modified BBSetup/BBSee to allow each PCBoard conference to have a
  81.    different default conference number if required.  This is in addition
  82.    to the 15 other conferences supported.

  84. 4. Added support for Boyan Wildcat macros.
  85.  
  86.    Ronald Cronewett's Boyan macro's to access Wildcat BBS's can be used
  87.    for uploading and downloading.  To configure this, modify the BBS
  88.    type in BBSetup from AUT to WC3 for the appropriate BBS's.  Lee
  89.    Breeden's macros will continue to work for the PCB type.

  91. 5. Fill bugs identified.

  93.    There were bugs related to the Fill function, which I introduced
  94.    after I first put this feature into beta in September.  I had made
  95.    changes to some variable names in the program and forgot to correct
  96.    some condition tests. Although Fill itself was working, some of the
  97.    options did not perform as indicated, (my particular configuration
  98.    worked fine).  Sorry for any confusion.
